The Chair of Civil Defense was opened in 1963.

Currently, according to the educational procedure of the Chair of Civil Defense, all the students from all faculties take the courses "Civil Defense in Emergency Situations" (15 hours) and "First Aid" (15 hours). At the end of the course, a training program is implemented, which provides the students with the opportunity to properly act in extreme situations.

Over time, the chair acquired the necessary medical devices, accessories, surgical dressings, dosimeters and chemical instruments, posters, etc. Now 1 classroom is equipped to display materials for didactic purposes.
