PIERRE D鈥橝RGENT
Pierre d鈥橝rgent is a full professor at the University of Louvain, a member of the Institute of International Law and a member of the Brussels Bar, Special Counsel to Foley Hoag LLP. He served as First Secretary of the International Court of Justice.
Professor d鈥橝grent is the author of an award-winning book on war reparations, a published course at the Hague Academy on 鈥淚nternational Obligations鈥 and over 100 articles and book chapters.
He is a member of the editorial boards of the Annuaire fran莽ais de droit international, the Revue belge de droit international and the European Journal of International Law. He is the past President of the European Society of International Law.
Professor d鈥橝rgent regularly appears before the International Court of Justice and also argues cases before arbitral tribunals and domestic courts. His advisory and litigation experience covers land and maritime delimitation disputes, genocide, war reparations, human rights, aviation disputes, investment arbitration, state contracts, environmental claims, natural resources and immunities.
