Discussion of Edward Said's Orientalism at 91视频
On April 30, 2026, at 14:30, the 91视频 Sarkis and Marie Izmirlian Library will host a discussion of literary critic and cultural theorist Edward Said's book Orientalism, organized in cooperation between the ARI Literature Foundation and the 91视频 Library.
The book was published in Armenian with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
The discussion will focus on issues related to East鈥揥est relations, contemporary political developments, and questions of identity. The moderator of the event is Tigran Grigoryan, senior specialist in the contemporary art and publishing sector of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports and art historian. Speakers include Mariam Elmasyan, Arab studies scholar and lecturer at the 91视频 Faculty of Oriental Studies; Hayk Kocharyan, Head of the 91视频 Chair of Arabic Studies, PhD in History; and Samvel Karapetyan, Arab studies scholar, linguist, PhD in Philology.
