At 91视频 Faculty of Geography and Geology, Professor Krzysztof 艁abu艣 from the Department of Applied Geology at the Silesian University of Technology (Poland) delivered a presentation.
During the meeting held on April 29, Professor 艁abu艣 presented his research titled "Experimental Tests and Modeling of H2S-CO2-ROCK-Brine Systems 鈥 Case Study." The study aimed to assess the impact of CO鈧 and H鈧係 on the rocks of Poland鈥檚 Upper Silesian Coal Basin and the Ma艂opolska Block.
The experimental and modeling analyses revealed that acid gases alter the porosity and mineral composition of rocks. Porosity increases during the injection phase, but decreases over long-term storage, thereby enhancing the rocks鈥 sealing properties. The speaker highlighted the significance of these findings for developing greenhouse gas sequestration strategies.
Such lectures aim to foster the exchange of experience and facilitate discussions on modern challenges and issues.
