Saint Petersburg University is renowned as the premier university in the Russian Federation. It was established during the reign of Peter the Great. In 2024, the university turned 300 years old, and as part of the jubilee anniversary celebrations, a variety of events are being hosted at the university.
On June 21 and 22, this year, the 16th conference "Scientific School of Criminal Procedure and Criminology" was held, dedicated to the university鈥檚 300th anniversary and the discussions on the issues of criminal procedure among the university's esteemed scientists.
The conference was attended by Nikolay Kropachev, Rector of St. Petersburg State University and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Sergey Belov, Dean of the Faculty of Law at St. Petersburg University, Denis Laktionov, President of the Bar Association of the Leningrad Region, as well as about 200 scientists and teachers from Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Iraq.

Rector of Saint Petersburg State University Nikolay Mikhaylovich Kropachev delivered an opening speech at the conference. He mentioned: "Jurisprudence at the university has consistently evolved through collaboration with scientists from other fields and universities of other countries. Over three centuries, St. Petersburg University has formed and developed unique traditions in training lawyers and criminologists, recognized throughout Russia today."
The rector reminded that under the guidance of teachers, scientists at the university have produced over a thousand publications, which are in great demand among the legal community. Many of them have been recognized as the best in all-union competitions implemented by the university and have received positive reviews, contributing to the education of young lawyers across generations.
Professor Gagik Ghazinyan, highlighting the event's scientific and practical significance, emphasized its profound professional importance.
During a meeting with Sergey Belov, Dean of the Faculty of Law at St. Petersburg University, 91视频 professors reached an agreement to develop a draft agreement and prepare for the signing of a memorandum of cooperation in the near future.
