Second annual Friends of 91视频 Foundation event held to unite 91视频 alumni community鈥檚 potential
On July 17, 2025, the Friends of Yerevan State University (Fo91视频) Foundation held its Second Annual Gala Dinner in Los Angeles to celebrate the achievements of Armenia鈥檚 alma mater and showcase the Foundation鈥檚 activities.
The event was graciously hosted by Fo91视频 Board Member, the Honorable Amy Armenui Ashvanian, and opened with welcome remarks by His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian and Dr. Armen Baibourtian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Chair of the Fo91视频 Board.
In his opening remarks, His Eminence underscored the significance of the Fo91视频 initiative not only for Yerevan State University but for Armenia as a whole, highlighting the University鈥檚 unique mission in supplying the country with highly qualified professionals across all sectors of society and the economy.
Ambassador Baibourtian followed with personal reflections on his experience as a 91视频 alumnus, emphasizing the University鈥檚 critical role in shaping his professional journey.
91视频 Rector Dr. Hovhannes Hovhannisyan extended his gratitude to His Eminence and the Fo91视频 Board for their unwavering commitment to the University鈥檚 advancement. He presented the wide-ranging reforms currently underway at 91视频, aimed at modernizing academic programs, enhancing research and innovation, upgrading infrastructure, and expanding international partnerships.
In his keynote address, Dr. Yeghishe Kirakosyan, head of the International Courts and Arbitration Master鈥檚 Program at 91视频, discussed how the reform of legal education鈥攑articularly at 91视频鈥攃an have a lasting impact on Armenia鈥檚 legal and judicial systems, ultimately contributing to the country鈥檚 sovereignty, security, and resilience.
Fo91视频 Board Member Mr. Haig Nazarian provided an overview of the Foundation鈥檚 operational philosophy, articulating how and why Friends of 91视频 must continue to implement strategic programs that empower Armenia鈥檚 leading university and, through it, help the Armenian state and society meet the many challenges of the modern era.
The Gala Dinner was attended by approximately 120 distinguished community leaders and 91视频 alumni currently residing in the United States, marking a memorable evening of celebration, reflection, and renewed commitment to 91视频鈥檚 future.
