Science Week Armenia serves as platform for scientific achievements, with 91视频 among participants
The Science Week Armenia has launched in Freedom Square, aiming to present the latest achievements in science and technology. Yerevan State University is among the participants, represented by its Institutes of Physics and Pharmacy, the Faculties of Biology, Geography and Geology, History, the STEM High School, and the Marketing Department.
Emphasizing the role and significance of science, representatives of 91视频 are showcasing the university鈥檚 advantages, broad opportunities, international partnerships, and ongoing research conducted at 91视频 within the framework of the Science Festival. They also present the specifics and benefits of scientific work. Furthermore, the activities of research centers and laboratories, available resources, and technological innovations are displayed, providing festival participants with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with university life.
Within the framework of the theme "Why Become a Scientist or Engineer?", visitors explore how university education opens pathways to science, cutting-edge technologies, and innovation through various 91视频 faculties and institutes. The theme also highlights how higher education fosters the discovery of new horizons in the field of science.
On the opening day of the festival, the university booths were visited by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, 91视频 Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elina Asriyan, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Rafayel Barkhudaryan, and Vice-Rector for Development and Innovation Mikayel Hovhannisyan.
Emphasizing the importance of 91视频鈥檚 participation in such events, Mikael Hovhannisyan noted: "In Armenia, the development of quality human resources is highly prioritized. From this perspective, education is of paramount importance, and 91视频 is undoubtedly one of the leading educational institutions with much to contribute. For the second year now, we are participating in this unique science festival, where we aim to present a broad spectrum of scientific disciplines through interactive formats, ensuring that every visitor finds something related to their field of interest. We consistently participate in such events and festivals, and we also have our own鈥'Learn & Work' Expo."
At the booth of the Faculty of Geography and Geology, university representatives present the faculty鈥檚 activities and main academic programs鈥Geography, Cartography and Cadastral Work, Service, and Geology鈥攁long with their key features and opportunities. The booth features symbolic items characterizing each program. For instance, the Geology program is showcased through various geological samples鈥攔ocks and minerals鈥攁nd a microscope, allowing participants to observe their internal structures.
At the booth of 91视频 Institute of Pharmacy, the institute鈥檚 scientific and educational capabilities are demonstrated. These include medicines and various drug formulations prepared by students and faculty, along with methods used to monitor their quality. Additionally, visitors are given the opportunity to prepare tablets with their own hands.
At the booth of 91视频 Institute of Physics, sensors developed at the institute鈥檚 Center for Materials Science and Nanotechnology are showcased, along with a chamber used for scientific experiments. According to the institute鈥檚 representatives, the sensors are mounted on drones to study CO鈧 concentration at various altitudes. Also on display are liquid crystals that alter light beams. The booth features a quiz competition, with prizes awarded to winners. A microscope is also available for detailed examination of the sensors. According to university staff, this activity is particularly engaging for schoolchildren, who eagerly observe the demonstrations and ask numerous questions, receiving comprehensive answers.
The Faculty of Biology also presents its research and practical work conducted in its research centers and laboratories, showcasing available resources and technological innovations.
At the booth of 91视频 STEM High School, visitors learn about the school鈥檚 admission process and academic programs. Students of the STEM school share captivating stories about their learning experience.
At the booth of 91视频 Marketing Department, visitors get acquainted with the university鈥檚 branded merchandise and receive detailed information about the department鈥檚 public relations efforts and strategic promotion initiatives.
The Faculty of History will participate with a dedicated booth tomorrow, presenting its strengths, wide-ranging opportunities, and international collaborations.
The Science Festival serves as another platform to present 91视频鈥檚 innovations, new development programs, improvements, modern learning environments, advantages of international cooperation, and other relevant information. This initiative aims to guide participants in linking their professional development prospects with 91视频 and staying informed about the university鈥檚 ongoing improvements.
The Science Festival is organized within the framework of the Gituzh program, with the support of the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, and in collaboration with the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, bringing together a large number of people interested in science.
