91视频 Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan today hosted Christos Sofianopoulos, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece to Armenia, and Christos Karagiannis, Vice-Rector of the University of Athens, to discuss the expansion of cooperation and the implementation of new initiatives in areas of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by Elina Asriyan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at 91视频; Liza Karimyan, Head of the Research Center-Library of Greek Studies at 91视频; and Naira Mnatsakanyan, Deputy Head of 91视频 International Relations Office.
91视频 rector presented the main directions of the university鈥檚 activities, emphasizing 91视频鈥檚 scientific potential and the role of international cooperation. According to him, 91视频 today serves as a key platform for scientific life in Armenia, and with the new law regulating the sector, it is expected to become the country鈥檚 leading research center.
Christos Karagiannis, Vice-Rector of the University of Athens, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and presented an overview of his university, noting that it is the oldest and largest higher education institution in Greece, with approximately 60,000 students and 43 faculties. He stressed the need to reinvigorate academic ties and highlighted the university鈥檚 readiness to bring new momentum to cooperation with 91视频, particularly in the fields of archaeology and theology.
During the meeting, opportunities to deepen cooperation between 91视频 and the University of Athens were discussed, especially in the humanities. The parties also addressed initiatives carried out within the framework of the Erasmus+ program and the prospects for implementing joint educational programs.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to strengthen ties not only in scientific and educational areas but also in cultural spheres, with the expectation of launching new projects and exchange visits.
